Happy New Year

I just wanted to post a Happy New Year to all our blogging friends and family. We are still in Eufaula, heading to Valley tomorrow. We have been so blessed with a wonderful Christmas and now it is time to begin the New Year. What a year it has been and a new year it will be. God has been so good to us. I am most thankful for my family. On October 6th, our family of 2 grew to a family of 4 overnight. Each day has brought blessings and memories that I will cherish forever. I can hardly wait to make new memories in '09. Thank you all for your love and support and many prayers throughout this year. Again....what a year it has been!!! Shannon and I got the best Christmas present ever from Thomas and Maddy. On Christmas Eve, the two of them slept their first solid night. That is right....not one middle of the night feeding. We thought they were just exhausted from the festivities and excitement, but it has lasted and we are enjoying the best sleep in a long time! I hope Santa was good to each and every one of you as well! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and much love!

Merry Christmas!

More Christmas Pictures

Here are Thomas and Maddy at the Smith's Christmas in Valley. We had a wonderful evening of food and laughter. Neil and Melissa welcomed us in their home after a lot of remodeling work. It was a great evening with family! Merry Christmas!

Nana's House

I just wanted to share a couple of pics from Nana's (my mom) house. We got in really late last night. The babes are still sleeping so I snapped a few pics. This is only a snippit of the Christmas decor. Mama has always gone overboard at Christmas. There are bows and santas everywhere! It is such a magical time for us all...especially this year with all the little ones. Emma and Ella (The Jones Family Blog) will be here around lunch and then we will celebrate! The list will include: Shannon, myself, Thomas and Madelynn, Jeremy (Brother), Jeb and Lacy, Emma and Ella, Mamaw, and Grandmama. What a house full! Oh...don't forget Nana and Poppy! I will have pictures to share later I am sure! I hope you have a blessed weekend! Let's all turn the air to 55 and put on sweaters and get the cocoa and pretend it feels like Christmas in December!

First TV Experience

Shannon and I got so tickled at Thomas and Madelynn tonight. We put on one of their videos and they were intrigued. It was our first family movie night. It was too cute! Here are a couple of pics.

Good Morning

The postings might be slow over the next couple of weeks. We are planning to visit family and celebrate Christmas! I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas. May God truly bless your heart and spirit!

Christmas Card

Here is a picture of our Christmas card for 2008. I am very proud of it. I am sorry that I can't send one out to everyone I know!!! I hope this finds you and your family well and merry this Christmas!!! God Bless!

P.S. Sorry it isn't more straight...I am not the best at scanning.

What a hot day!

Thomas and Madelynn and I tried to take a stroll around the neighborhood today. Boy was it hot! I immediately broke into a sweat and Maddy started her red spots...she does that when she gets hot. I was afraid they might get burned by the sun or sweat, which isn't good for babies. We strolled for about 15 minutes and then came home for a bottled lunch and nap. I can't get over these 70+ temps in December.....I hope Santa can bring some cooler weather soon!

10 weeks

Good morning! We are at 10 weeks today! We had a great weekend.....mostly around the house....but overall it was a nice weekend. The weather has been beautiful. Shannon had a lot of work to do this weekend ....but we are thankful for every minute we get with our daddy. Thomas and Madelynn are up and at it today. They both have smiles on their faces. Here are a couple of pictures for today. I love their morning joy!

Good Morning

Thomas smiling as always....

I just had to share this....so many comment to me that Maddy hardly smiles in pictures. Thomas seems to be always smiling. Here is a shot I got of her this morning doing just that....SMILING! What a pretty girl!!!

Priceless....

I just had to share these photos. This is Maddy...completely knocked out after her bath and bottle. The other is a picture of Thomas and Madelynn modeling their Christmas hats...too funny!

Morning after shots....

We had a nice morning! Thomas and Madelynn woke up rested and ready to go. They ate a great breakfast, played, took some pictures and are now ready for their morning nap. I thought I'd share with you some pictures that I just took. We are in our onesies today as it is registering 72 degrees in the house. The weather is yucky!!! Hope things are looking better where you are! I don't anticipate us getting out today!

Shots Updated....

We had a very successful experience at our 2 month appointment. Both Thomas and Madelynn gave a short cry after the 3 shots, but did not seem to mind it once they received their hug and bottle. All went really well! Shannon and I both were relieved. I admit, I did have a tear in my eye when I heard Thomas' cry. He has the most pitiful cry and can make the fattest lip....it just breaks my heart. Here are the updates on measurements: Madelynn weighed in at 9 pounds and 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. She is 10th percentile in weight and 50th percentile in length. Thomas weighed in at 9 pounds and 10 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. He was 10th percentile in weight and 10th percentile in length. He was 50th percentile in head circumference.....he does have a broad forehead......what a thinker. Maybe that is why he is always so relaxed....he is pondering bigger and better things. Overall, Dr. Jester said we are on target and looking great! I feel so good having this first appointment behind us. Thank you all for your support and prayers. I hope you are having a great day...despite this nasty weather!

Shots

Please say a prayer for our angels today....they get their first round of shots! I am a nervous wreck! Any helpful advice would be great. We have the Tylenol ready!!! I hope your day is blessed. I can't believe we have a high of 72 today....isn't it December!

Here you go Nana!

As a request from Nana....I took a picture of Thomas and Madelynn in their Chez Ami PJs. Sorry....but the only shot I could get was from behind. What you can't tell is that Maddy is screaming......hence her clenching the blanket. It is time to bring the day to a close and she fights it more than anyone I've ever met (she is just like her mama). If it were up to her there would be no naps, no bedtime, no rest! She does not want to miss a thing!!! On the other hand there is Thomas (just like his daddy). He can rest, nap, sleep anywhere....anytime! It is funny to look back and remember that I thought Maddy would be like her daddy and Thomas like me. Both have characteristics of both Shannon and I, but I would have to say Maddy is most like me and Thomas most like his daddy! I am just so thankful that they are ours! What a blessing we have this Christmas! Everywhere we go, we get attention and most people say...what a blessing....two babies for Christmas! I totally agree!

Thumbs up!

More Pictures.....

We were just playing around...taking some holiday pictures! I have two little hams on my hands I do believe! I hope they get our love for picture taking as they tend to do really well. Shannon and I just have to be sure to give them little breaks every now and then as we would take their picture 24-7 if we could! They are just too darn cute....if I say so myself!!! I am amazed at how they are changing daily. They smile and "talk" more. They can make sounds....then I make sounds...then they do it again. The smiling is what will warm your heart beyond belief. I never dreamed being a mom would be this amazing. God is so good....I just hope we don't miss a minute!

More Pictures....

I had to add these before we call it a night....this was after their dinner.....Thomas is all smiles and Maddy just sits like the princess that she is....ready for the camera.

Saturday

Shannon called me into the living room this morning to show me that Maddy had rolled over. It was the funniest thing. She had completely rolled over on Thomas.....I guess she is showing that she is on top! We spent the day running around....I was in desperate need of some jeans! Thank goodness Shannon was willing to run with me. We went to Old Navy where we fed and changed the babies right at the front window. They don't make stores baby friendly like they should...especially not twin baby friendly. We are now watching the Alabama/Florida game and grilling. The excitement has pooped out the babies. I went ahead and bathed them and put them in their pjs....hope you enjoy the pics!

Lunch

We had lunch with our daddy today......we ate at the Wing Stop.....lunch was okay but the company was much better! I am still amazed how our family of 2 turned into such a beautiful family of 4 overnight!

Good Morning

Good morning everyone! We are finally adjusting to being back and home and getting a schedule down. I hope you enjoy today's Christmas pics! By the way....we conquered Walmart yesterday! My angels were so good!!! There is just little room left in the buggy once you have two carseats inside.

Too Cute...

I had to share the Christmas boodies......

We had a doctors appointment today. We go next week for our 2 month shots! Wow...I can't believe we are already at 2 months. We have such wonderful Christmas outfits to wear to all our outings.....and yes we are getting out. I took Thomas and Maddy to Target on Monday and then Walmart today. I am a nervous wreck....but am getting more comfortable with each trip! So far so good....they are just a dream! We found out weights today.....Thomas is 9 lbs and 9 ounces and Maddy is 9 lbs and 2 ounces. I am so excited to know that they are growing strong! They are at the 10th percentile which Dr. Jester says is normal at this point. They should progressively increase their percentiles as they get older. I hope this finds you all well!!! Hugs and Merry Christmas!
P.S. Notice the hats.....we have some getting used to in that area....Maddy wasn't so thrilled about hers.
