We are back....

in Augusta that is.....here are the angels enjoying their bottle while mommy and daddy unload. We had a great weekend back in Valley and got some great family time with Nonnie and Aunt Cindy as well as time with Nana, Poppy, Emma and Ella. (Notice how Thomas loves to get his foot in those stacking rings.....this is not the first or second time he's done that...)

6 Month Appt.

We are over 6 1/2 months...but due to our hectic schedule and the schedule of our doctor...we just got to our 6 month shots today. What an appointment it was. I am so proud of my little angels. Thomas is weighing 15lbs and 9 ounces and is 25 inches long. This is in the 25th percentile when compared to boys his age. Madelynn is weighing in at 15 lbs and 6 ounces and is 24 and 3/4 inches long. This is in the 50th percentile when compared to girls at this age. I know...funny...he is bigger but her percentile is higher. Dr. Jester said everything looks great and they are right on target. They also were great troopers with the 3 shots they both got in the thigh. OUCH!
We did schedule a few appointments for Thomas though. He is not eating as he should at this point (not totally out of the normal though) but just to be sure Dr. Jester wants him to consult with a speech therapist on his swallowing, etc. We see one therapist on the 21st for a Modified Barium Swallow Test and another therapist on the 29th for some other test. The stinky part is he can't eat 3 hours prior to the test....and we are used to a bottle every 2 hours during the day. How do you explain to a 6 month old you are not feeding him for his own good? We also have an appt on the 19th with an eye doctor just to check Thomas' eye. Shannon has a history of eye problems that runs in the males on his side of the family....Dr. Jester doesn't see anything but just wants to be sure. We agree!!!
All in all it was a great appt. We got our orders which I am following. We will continue on baby foods and pureed foods I make but no table foods or finger foods yet. I am so proud of my pumpkins and look forward to getting good results from Thomas' appointments coming up.

Good is sooooo good!

Those tasty toes....

My Little Shannon
Miss Flexibility

We are back......in Augusta that is....

I just had to share these. I took them this morning....the angels are in their polo cotton outfits....we then went for a stroll. This was our first time to use the stroller "big-kid" style. Notice there are no infant seats.....Maddy looks like she is about to fall out but I had her all strapped in. They loved it. At one point I stopped to take a snapshot and found Maddy all relaxed....getting some sun on those chunky white legs.....toooooo cute!!! Thomas just lounged as we strolled and grunted the whole time. What fun!!!!

Stick's Country

We had a great first night at the concert....we heard performances from Whiskey Falls, Mark Chestnut, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins and Gretchen....by far our fav was Craig Morgan...he just had a great presence about him. Shannon and I came home this morning for a quick home shower before heading back. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy. The Green's are being such great hosts and letting us stay with them!

The angels are doing great....Thomas didn't sleep so well for Nana but they seem to be having fun. I miss them terribly. I told everyone I feel as though I cut off my right hand and left it in Eufaula yesterday.....can't wait for sugar tomorrow!!!!

Here is a link I also wish you'd view if you haven't seen it on the news lately . It is an amazing testament that you can never judge a book by it's cover.....amazing!

Touching base.....

You will likely not here or see a new post from us until next week as things are going to be crazy busy around here. I will be leaving out in the morning to take the angels to my mom's house in Eufaula. They will be staying with her over the weekend ....our first time apart overnight. I am nervous but know my mom will take better care of them than I do....so I have no worries. Well, I do have one worry....that she will be exhausted come Sunday. However, I know they will have fun. I plan to stay with them until Friday morning and then get them back on Sunday. Shannon and I will be attending the big STICKS Country Music Festival this weekend in Auburn. We are really excited. We will be camping with our friends....The Green's.
We have had a wonderful Easter Weekend and Week. Shannon has gotten some things done...including a little work on the garden, despite all the wetness and we had a wonderful time with family and friends. Shannon's Aunt Donna even drove down to get some baby time in. All in all it has been a great week. I will touch base next week and let you know all about the weekend. Prayers would be appreciated.....prayers for mama's energy and my sanity without my angels.

The Morning After.....

When all the guests are gone and the rain is falling outside and we've had a full nights sleep....we finally enjoy our wonderful toys and goodies brought to us yesterday by Nana and Poppy. The day was a beautiful day but was not free of meltdowns. Thomas and Maddy woke from their nap to find their home full of people.....people oohing and aahing and wanting time with them. Needless to say it did not go over well at first. However, once they got more comfortable with their surroundings, their bellies full, and got to go outside....they were their normal perky self....well, at least until they were totally exhausted and ready for bed...but that is another story. Nonnie (Jackie) and Cindy and Donna did a great job of hanging eggs and getting the house ready for Easter fun. They had our Ginkgo tree looking egg-tastic! Nana came with gifts and friends came bringing lots of fun. We had lots of great chicken (thank you Shannon) and other yummies......what a day. Congrats to Maegan for finding the golden egg and then sharing it with Emma. We enjoyed our company....the Greens, Whortons, Sandra, Aunt Stacey, Uncle Jeb and the girls and so on. What a day!!
Well, here are the pics from early this morning of us finally enjoying our toys......Happy Easter Everyone!!! We truly know how blessed we are......and praise God for them all!

Today....

Here is a pic of the angels all clean and fresh from the tub and ready for the evening. I decided to dress them for bed early so I could get the laundry caught up before tomorrow. Notice Maddy studying the book.....they are both sitting so big!!!!

Update....

Happy Wednesday everyone. I wanted to post a little update on the angels. We are getting ready for a wonderful weekend with friends and family as we celebrate the Holy Easter Weekend. Thomas is sleeping better, but at the discomfort of Maddy I am afraid. Shannon and I continue to put the angels down to sleep as normal, but then around 10pm Thomas awakes and we put him in his own crib.....separate from Maddy. She does not like this and is restless the rest of the night but at least there are no more major night awakenings....just the occasional passy retrieval. I hope we can continue to figure this one out....
Thomas still will not eat anything solid or from a spoon.....Maddy has started pushing things out more too. She just doesn't seem as hungry as she was. I will be ready for our 6 months appointment to discuss all this. In the meantime we just do what we can and each day offers new opportunities. They continue to amaze and tickle me each day. Thomas is becoming SOOO active and even growls....it is really funny. Maddy has lessened her squealing and is a lot more focused and relaxed. Both babies are sitting with and without support, reaching for things, standing with support, babbling, rolling over, etc. They love books and love to be read to and really LOVE Blue's Clues.
Well, I do hope this finds you all well and wish you all a wonderful Easter Weekend full of peace and thanksgiving.
