Hats....

I just had to share a few pictures with you.
This is Thomas in his green on St. Patrick's Day.

Here is Thomas in his new hat for summer. I found this at Target yesterday. Nana has hats on order already but I just couldn't pass this one up. It will be perfect for riding on the ranger with daddy!

Here is Maddy in her hat that cousin Ella shared with us.

Question

Okay....so I've been given the go ahead for putting cereal in with Thomas' last bottle of the day. Any suggestions? I tried it last night and he screamed and I ended up just giving him a regular bottle....wasting formula, cereal, and his patience. Please advise. Is there an easier way to do it. I clipped some off top of the nipple to open the flow....but he just doesn't like it. I don't know if it is the texture or the flow or what. He did eat a little bit of prunes yesterday but still hates the spoon....especially when it has cereal. Again, any suggestions would be great. The ped said he needs the calories and that is why he is back up for 2 bottles at night...otherwise she wouldn't suggest the cereal in the bottle. Maddy on the other hand continues to sleep like a rock. She is whispering to Thomas to hurry and master the spoon as she knows bigger treats are ahead.

Here is a camera pic of Thomas with prunes on the face!

Update....

We have been in Valley this weekend. What a dreary weekend it has been....but the down time has been nice. Thomas has started requiring 2 bottles during the night now....that makes for little sleep for mommy. I do enjoy the snuggle time with him as he eats though. He is so precious. Maddy has started this high pitched squeal lately. I can't help but giggle but am terrified of her doing it in restaurants, etc. Of course I think everything she does is cute but I don't think others will. She is eating her cereal so well....she really loves that she has mastered yet another task. Thomas on the other hand could care less! He just pushes it out and has no interest. I am not concerned as I have read it is normal for some to not be ready at this point. Some children hang on to the thrust reflex longer than others. We will just keep practicing. I will post pics as soon as we get back to Augusta. I want to say a special thanks for Jackie and Cindy for allowing Shannon and I to enjoy Outback last night...my fav...what a treat!
One more note.....please be in prayer for a very special family in Eufaula. The Kirklands have faced a very tragic event and I pray God's hand of comfort and peace on them all.....

Blessings!

Are we sprouting a tooth?

I have been posting on my facebook status all the changes I have been having with Thomas. Lately...he has not been my usually relaxed child. He is irritable, restless, moody, easily aggravated, can't get settled, isn't sleeping, isn't allowing mommy to sleep, etc. He wants a bottle and then once he has it refuses it. I finally gave in and gave him some Tylenol last night which allowed him to rest a little better. He is still not eating cereal so he has started "requesting" a bottle around 3am. Maddy on the other hand is sleeping like a rock. She loves her cereal and is ready to move forward. We are still trying to get Thomas to eat so we are patient. I have changed from rice to oatmeal, added applesauce, bananas, etc. I don't think it has anything to do with his not liking it but that he still has the thrust reflex and just pushes it out. Again....we are just being patient. I do believe all these changes are due to teething as he is chewing and drooling so much more lately. I made them both homemade teethers yesterday......an ice cube in a baby bath cloth...they loved it! I would appreciate any stories, words of advice, suggestions, etc. Thanks!!!!
P.S. Please don't hold it against me.....I did give my son the pink washcloth.....I was a bit distracted!

Emma Time

The angels and I got some quality time with Emma yesterday. We first hit the pet store and then Walmart. Emma was such a BIG help. She pushed the grocery buggy while I pushed the babies...she did so good for her first time...she only got my heels twice. Thank you Emma. It was nice having a whole buggy to fill as I usually only get to use the under part of a buggy when it is just me and the babes......

This is a camera pic of Emma with Maddy (front) and Thomas at Tiger Town....the Tiger is fake so don't worry.....it wasn't going to eat Maddy.
P.S. We head for Atlanta Motor Speedway today. We have family watching after the angels.....T and M are in for a treat today as I am sure the house will be buzzing with Family!!! I truly appreciate there support but am so anxious about leaving...this will be my first real time away from them. I know my buddy Trina will help as she has been down this road before, but I will be glad to see them tonight! Jr. ....here I come!

5 Months

The angels are 5 months today. I can't even believe it has been 5 months since that miraculous day in Augusta when they arrived!!!!Thomas is rolling over now without any problem. It only takes seconds for him to do it and he hardly fusses. He is a lot more demanding and loves attention. The excitement in his face when I go to get him after he awakes is priceless....he already knows he has my heart. Maddy is full of energy and curiosity. She is so observant and alert. She studies everything from the food I eat to the words on the pages of books we read. Her big brown eyes just can't see enough. I have a feeling she will be teaching me more than I teach her. What a blessed mama I am!!!! Thank you Lord for this gift of motherhood......there is nothing that compares! I feel so very blessed!!!

Catching up...

I wanted to post some of the pictures I have been holding on to in my camera. No real reason....just lack of time getting them transferred. Thomas is now rolling over regularly....mostly without fuss. Maddy loves to sit and stand (while hands held) and she gets tickled when you call her a big girl. We are really having fun!!! Thomas and Maddy both enjoyed the snow from the front door....they watched Tucker as he sunned himself on the front porch. You can also see a before and after the snow picture...that is Shannon's truck as he was going to get Jackie and Cindy. Hope you all enjoyed the crazy weather over the weekend...I hear it will be 70's again this weekend! I am just hopeful for good weather as our dear friend Mr. Bridges our Fox Friend, gave us tickets to Atlanta.....Jr. here we come!!! P.S....we love FOX!
