October and The Pumpkin Patch

Hello Everyone! Today Shannon and I have been doing things to get the house ready. I thought we were ready but when you actually have a set date and time it makes you really look at little things that need to be done. We changed some light bulbs and the a/c filter and went to the grocery store. I am also doing some things (recommended by a pediatrician we heard speak) to prepare the house for the babies and guests. You might think me crazy but I promise...these are all things we were told to do by the doctors. I have sanitizer in most rooms, blankets ready, and antibacterial soap in all soap dispensers. The doctors told us that everyone coming in the house must wash thoroughly with soap and water. Then....they can use sanitizer as long as they remain in the house. When holding the babies a blanket should be used to cover shirts, etc. due to germs and pollutants that might have landed on peoples clothes. Do you think it is too much? We will do this for at least the first 2-3 weeks and will likely loosen up as the babies mature. Mama has made me feel better about it saying that these are our babies and we can enforce whatever measure we feel are needed. We can hardly wait for Thomas and Madelynn to get here.

I also wanted to share some pictures Shannon took today. We went to the Pumpkin Patch at our church (Wesley). I wanted a big pumpkin for our front door. The mums were beautiful!!! Hope your enjoying this "cooler" weather as well. October is my FAVORITE time of year....what better time for our angels to enter this world!! Blessings!

The fall colors and pumpkins are beautiful, just like you. That's right baby, we will all do as you and Shannon request. You are the parents now and you make the decisions for your babies. We are all blessed by these babies and we want the best for them too!!!!!

I was just like you. My babies came this time of year, too and I didn't want to take any chances with them getting sick during flu season. They are too fragile and precious. And as far as getting ready, I got really crazy toward the end buying in bulk everything so we wouldn't run out. I had enough toothpaste, shampoo,etc...to last the rest of the year. I guess I went a little overboard. Oh well, better to be too prepared than not enough.

I think you are doing great in making sure your babies are in perfect hands! Jenny did the same thing... EVERYONE had to wash their hands GOOD prior to holding Baby Walker! Don't you worry... you are the Mama and can make and enforce any rule you want too!
BIG HUGS!
